Our director brings brilliance and energetic creativity with a wide breadth of experience to evolve your marketing, communications, public relations, and beyond.
Rowena's career has spanned a number of public and private sector accomplishments. Her life in the fast-lane of comms and marketing includes heading up Communications for a U.S. Congressional Campaign, Director of Communications for the City of Bridgeport reporting to the Mayor, Communications Chair for Connecticut's Public Safety ESF13, directing comms for a statewide gubernatorial campaign and municipal elections, as well as leading local and state Digital, Events, and Sponsorships for regional media outlets.
She also spends time working on things that matter to her outside of daily responsibilities, including being a former Board member of the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce with the BRBC, and former President of the WICC Holiday Fund for Children. Rowena is now an active Board Member of Western CT Tourism and on the Marketing Committee.
Her credentials go well beyond your usual degree...just like her work goes well beyond the typical "programmatic" ideas many agencies rely on, as she knows an enhanced and vibrant communications strategy means thinking well outside the box. That being said, she holds a BS in Business/Corporate Communications and among other qualifications, she is a certified Brainstorm Facilitator, received her Certificate in social marketing for coalitions statewide approach from the U.S. Department of Justice - Juvenile Justice, is a graduate of Leadership Greater Norwalk and Bridgeport, and is a FEMA credentialed Public Information Officer including Crisis Communications.
In her spare time, she loves tending to her garden, thinking of the most outrageously "DiNAMIC" creative ideas to spark conversation and action, enjoying time outside, and hanging with her favorite and most wise pup, Yogi.
